Meet Sarah
So Sarah, tell us what you do here at Mindspark.
As the VP of Expressions, I co-ordinate between the product managers, the tech team, design team and editorial to make sure our projects are on time, fun and engaging. I’m always checking the social sphere to see which products are missing, what people are talking about, which products should be created and which ones are in demand by our users. The best part of this job, and the hardest part of this job, is coming up with something that doesn’t exist yet and making people want to use it.
Why did you decide to come to Mindspark?
The type of people who work here are what attracted me the most, followed very closely by the products themselves. How many people get paid to work with Smileys and play games on Facebook all day? We’re one lucky group. Before Mindspark I worked at iVillage.com, lifetimetv.com and I have my own business for moms, betterwaymoms.com.
What’s your favorite part about working for Mindspark?
The people and the atmosphere. Everyone here works really hard, but we have a lot of fun while we do it. I really enjoy the work I do, and I feel very lucky to get to do it with this group of people.
What has been the most amazing experience or day you’ve had at Mindspark thus far?
The day the Expressions Team was created. We were all excited about being part of this team, we loved the products we were going to work with and the world was ours to start creating new Facebook apps, building on our existing products and exploring what was possible.
Random fun fact about you:
I’m a political junky, I’m my kids’ biggest fan and I can’t ever seem to get enough of Doritos.
Favorite Social Media Site/App/Tool:
Facebook. Is this a real question? Ha ha.
Favorite Iphone App:
Smiley Central, followed very closely by Shazam.
If you could do any job in the world other than what you’re doing now what would you be doing?
Running for president.
